Re: Agile/Scrum Software?

JIRA is pretty much the leader in this category, esp. if coupled with Confluence. Most of the other products are wannabes, or have limited features. Jim, please, tell us how you feel. One should always pick the right tool for the job. Trello has *more* than what I need to get my work done, so why w...

Scrum may not be Agile

I see all these terms thrown around here, Agile, Scrum, XP, etc. and wahned to just point out that there are many certified PMPs that do not consider Scrum an Agile process. I am not sure I agree with them, or not, but I have heard some very interesting arguments both ways. I just wanted to throw th...

Re: Scrum without a PM ??

Who says that? Although a scrum team may not have a single person as a "Project Manager" the Scrum Master is a management position, though it's scoped differently. Plus, don;t forget that the whole scrum concept is based on a "Self-Organizing" team concept, so the traditional PM ...

Re: Using Traditional Developers in Agile Projects?

Very sound advice, Andrew. I remember creating those lists when I was first introduced to Agile. They were very helpful and indeed gave me a unique insight to the project team.

Re: Possibly wrong subject - Software Development

"Recently, I talked to the developers who are part of this initiative; they tell me that it's not fun. They are not allowed to talk to other developers by their Scrum master and are not allowed to take any phone calls in the work area (which maybe fine to an extent). For example, if I want to ...

Re: Possibly wrong subject - Software Development

This is probably in the wrong section, as the OP suggested, but I agree that Agile is the approach that should be used for most software development projects, if not all. Only people that do not understand it would call it silly. I think that Jeff Sutherland's contribution in coming up with the Agil...

Re: Interest in Datacenters

There are lots of documents that explain the tiers. Here are a couple of links that give a few paragraphs in plain English.

Which Blade Servers?

Does anyone here have any experience with HP and Dell blade servers? I know that pricing can be very different, but I am looking for some input on reliability and maintenance, when using such servers in mission critical situations.

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.
