Re: Best Project Mgmt Tool ?

Wow! The last thing I wanted was to start a war :-) All I wanted was some advise as to what people here think is a good PM package. So, I guess not use BASECAMP, or google docs, or Trello? Is MS-Project what I should be using? Don't listen to what people post here. I am not saying they are wrong, b...

Re: Best Project Mgmt Tool ?

Just adding my 2 cents here , and possibly fanning the fire :-)

TRELLO and Basecamp are very good collaboration platforms, but they are not PM software products in the pure PM Software definition.

JIRA and Confluence, among many others. The best way to determine what tool would be the best for you, would be to try it.

Re: Tools for creating architect diagrams?

DIA is very similar to MS-Visio and can be used to create lots of different diagrams. I use it all the time and strongly recommend it.

Re: Not everyone likes Agile :-)

I haven't read the book, but I'm sure there are things about Agile that could be improved. In my limited experience I have found that one of the reasons some people do not like Agile, is the increased level of transparency, when it comes to performance. Evaluations of what everyone is doing are not ...

Not everyone likes Agile :-)

I don't agree with the points this blogger is making, but I thought others here might be interested in a different take on things.

NewAgile, these are just some of them. There many software architecture styles out there. BTW, I like your logon name :-) Are you becoming agile, or was it just something that sounded good?

Re: PM, BA, Architect, etc. - What are the differences?

Not sure that I can shed light for all those titles and terms, but a while ago I found some good information about what an architect is and I kept it. I don't mind sharing it with you (slightly paraphrasing). I hope it's helpful. Application architecture contains the elements of visual design and pr...

Re: Which PM Certification?

Any certification is good, since it usually signifies that you went through "some" training and was able to successfully pass "some" test. However, like the previous poster, I also think that any certification sponsored by PMI usually carries more weight.

Pretty good explanation Paris K.

There are many versions of flipping the iron triangle in the Agile process. Here is another one, for additional info.

Re: Types of Agile?

There are probably many lists of what people consider Agile processes, on the web, and not everyone agrees, but here is *my* list. The (*1/2*) notation means that these processes are considered by some/many "Semi-Agile". Scrum Adaptive Software Development (ASD) Crystal Methods (Crystal C...

Re: Types of Agile?

What "part" of Agile are interested in? Scrum? TDD? Kanban?

If you give me some idea I might be able to upload some info.

"Tell me about Agile" is too generic a question :-)
