Re: Agile Methodologies NOT for Large-Scale Projects

Agile methodology is actually very well suited for very large projects. It's all in how these methodologies are implemented!

Re: Agile 2014 Conference, Orlando

I haven't been to one of those, but I've been to some smaller Agile conferences - they were very informative and helpful. BTW, here are a few later this year, in case you are interested. You can find more information about them on-line. * Agile Bootcamp - Santa Monica, CA - Aug 23 - Aug 24, 2014 * A...

Re: Scrum Metrics

Hmm, I am not aware of any specific files, but if you have an idea of what metrics you are interested in, there may be a way to formulate them yourself. Were there any specific metrics?

Re: Agile Books - Suggestions?

There are probably hundreds out there, but here are a few that *I* found useful. Succeeding with Agile: Software Development Using Scrum - Mike Cohn Agile Project Management with Scrum (Developer Best Practices) - Ken Schwaber Agile and Iterative Development: A Manager's Guide - Craig Larman Lean So...

PM, BA, Architect, etc. - What are the differences?

One thing that has always confused me is the different titles of people working on software projects. So, we talk of Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Technical Leads, and so on. Does anyone have a good source that defines and explains the differences of...

Re: Using Traditional Developers in Agile Projects?

Oscar, I am not sure that there are Traditional and Agile developers, but there may be developers that have not yet been trained in the Agile processes. In order to answer your question, you probably need to create two columns, one for Traditional and one for Agile, then list the qualities you think...

Re: Traditional -vs- Agile

Yeah, both IBM and HP at the time had seen the value in informal, frequent meetings, as well as the need to have a more flexible approach. Their failing may have been the rigid way in which they wanted to divide everything into small slices and as Larry Constantine said at the time “not every proble...

Re: Waterfall or Scrum? And why?

I agree with BLarson, there is no absolute rule, one has to look at it on a case-by-case basis. There are instances when a more "structured" approach is better for a specific project.

Re: Types of Agile?

Thanks, Aaron. I know that I can search the web for info on Agile, but it's different if someone familiar with it provides some starting point. It makes it easier since there is at least some sort of validation. If you have any documents that would be good for someone who is starting Agile, can you...
