Re: Best Project Mgmt Tool ?

O.K., I am sure that all (most ?) of us have better things to do than to argue about the best PM software. I will just summarize my thoughts in this last message and will move on :-) the consensus on PM related message boards is that BASECAMP was primarily developed to manage WEB designer/agency pro...

Re: Best Project Mgmt Tool ?

Sorry if I came off too critical. Problem is I believe that is someone is doing something wrong, you need to tell them straight! That's the only way to help them, not by sugarcoating everything. One can use whatever the want for PM, even paper and pen, if that's what they are comfortable with, I agr...

Re: Is Delphi XE7 a good platform?

The best platform is the one you are most comfortable and most familiar with, unless you are doing some very specialized development that is only supported by a specific platform.

Re: Agile/Scrum Software?

JIRA is pretty much the leader in this category, esp. if coupled with Confluence. Most of the other products are wannabes, or have limited features.

I just happened to be reading an old article about it and it peaked my interest. I guess not too many people (even statisticians) were too familiar with it up until 10-15 years ago, but it is getting very popular as it is being used to detect fraud in corporations, tax documents, etc. by simply look...

We are looking are redoing the e-commerce platform for one of our retail sales divisions, and there are so many choices out there, including options to creating an in-house solution, that we are having a hard time deciding which way to go. Re: Agile With Specs

Interesting approach, but I believe it has limited applicability, in certain types of software development. It is not as general as the typical Agile approach.

Re: Traditional -vs- Agile

Andrew, this is one of few documents that recognize the inception of Agile type methods at IBM, back ~40 yrs ago ("Chief Programmer Approach"). It also does a good job recognizing some of the shortcomings of Agile, without negating the whole process and the benefits it can provide. Thank you for pos...
