Re: Post Fukushima Requirements

Wet Deposition (or wet depletion) is a very effective process for removing airborne particulates and even Iodine vapor, from an airborne plume. Usually it's natural precipitation that does that, but properly configured water cannons can achieve the same results. You can take a look here for more det...

Re: Boston: Expert public discussion - post Fukushima

Gundersen, Jaczko respected? And your source is wikipedia? I'm sure you know that it's probably not an accepted reference for even a high school term paper. Here are some other references about Gundersen's respectability and credentials: http://atomicinsights.com/was-gundersen-a-licensed-reactor-ope...

Re: Boston: Expert public discussion - post Fukushima

Quite a line-up :-( Esp. with Gundersen and Jaczko part of it. It will be a few hours of BS with nothing substantive being offered, but scaring the public with words like nuclear, radiation, death, cancer, dangerous, etc. without any factual basis. Why would anyone waste their time to go listen to s...

Re: Fukushima Material Release

VEry useful report, Helen. Do you know if they have updated it, since the original release? I thought I saw somewhere that there was a revised report.

I got my hands on some presentations from TEPCO, about the Daiichi units and I'll be uploading them here for everyone.

Re: Energy Sources of the near future

KeltPhys, welcome to our debate group :-) You are right, Natural Gas and fracking is a hot issue, but not just because of the economics. You say natural gas is the "safest" form of energy and I've seen that quoted in many references. It may be safe, but the natural gas cycle, in particular including...

Re: Fukushima radiation is killing hundreds of whales!

Gradphys, you'll be surprised to what lengths people will go to just prove their point. I'm all for being passionate about something and I can understand that as humans we are all biased to some degree about pretty much everything, but totally making up things to prove a point is beyond being passio...

Re: Fukushima radiation is killing hundreds of whales!

Unfortunately, the internet and computers make it way too easy for people to fake things and make them so believable that unsuspecting individuals unwillingly propagate the hoax, in particular if it supports their point if view. I remember the fake reports, back in 2011, about the radioactive plume ...
