Approval of Reactor Design Clears Path for New Plants

I almost missed this article, in the excitement of the holidays, last week. A piece of good news for the nuclear industry. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/23/business/energy-environment/nrc-clears-way-for-new-nuclear-plant-construction.html?_r=1 The AP1000 design was unanimously approved by the NRC.

Scilab 5.4.0 Alpha-1 is already out, for anyone interested.

You are better off posting this request on one of the SCI.Nuclear or ALT.Nuclear public newsgroups. Better yet, pick up an intro book on shielding and the formulas should be there.

I understand KimChin. I didn't say that particles have changed their behavior. But coding practices have and I'm sure that people have come up with better techniques that point kernel methods for solving shielding problems.

I don't know that they have any such program or not, but why can't you get one from RSIC or some other government lab? I believe you can get them for free and they range in complexity and capabilities from the very simple to the real sophisticated. For example, since you are looking for gamma trans...
