Re: Purpose of Board?

Same here. AFAIK, the board created to provide a place of TRIUS customers to discuss their products and other issues. I have to say, though, that it has transcended that and it has become more of a general technology board, which is fine with me. This way I learn lots of things every time I visit he...

Re: WHO Fukushima Health Effects Report

HowardE, it precisely because of the ability of the industry to collect *more* data nowadays that the conclusions in the report are deemed preliminary with uncertainties! The amount of data available, in particular as it pertains to dose/exposure measurements, is so voluminous that making sense and ...

Re: WHO Fukushima Health Effects Report

...the WHO concluded that the predicted risks from radiation at Fukushima's Daiichi plant "are low and no observable increases in cancer rates above baseline rates are anticipated." HowardE, I don't know where you saw this reporting, or if what you posted was a direct quote from the repor...

Interest in Datacenters

I just saw that there seems to be some interest here about Datacenters. I also find the subject interesting, and am just getting involved in this area, so I wouldn't mind exchanging information about the subject here. Well, I am not sure that I can make any contributions until I get a big more famil...

Re: Energy Technology

Pleonat, unfortunately, I don't, but I'm sure you'll find more links if you google the appropriate keywords. We *all* have the same access to that ;-) Well, I still haven't been able to find a copy of the Beta Heating paper by P. Karahalios and K. Wainio in English. If anyone has a copy of it and c...

Re: Energy Technology

That's an old reference and the following are shown as authors of the study. Warman, E.A.; Karahalios, P.; Celnick, J.; McInall, S.; Frank, S. (Stone and Webster Engineering Corp., Boston, MA (USA)) Which one was the co-founder of TRIUS? Karahalios was the co-founder. Based on this web site's info,...

NEI Nuclear Plants are Weatherproof

I know that there have been many discussions about the safety of nuclear plants following the Fukushima accident. It prompted the cancellation of the Italian nuclear power expansion program, prompted Germany's announcement to shut down all nukes (though as I understand, they had to re-start some of ...

Re: Fukushima - End of US Nuclear Power renaissance?

I don't know if he's a political hack, but the fact that the other 4 commissioners votes yes, is encouraging. I can't be certain, but I think that this may now pave the road for a couple of more AP1000 units that have been in limbo for a few years. I have to say, though, I which there were a couple ...

Re: AZ - Spent fuel Repository ??

The best thing would be to NOT produce any more spent fuel or additional rad waste! How would you like it if they decided to put such a facility in your state, may be 20 miles or so from *your* home? Great idea. Why don't we just give up electricity, give up automobiles, forget about fire, etc. and...

Re: More Fukushima Cs in Europe

I don't know about the veracity of the OP's info, one way or the other. However, since Cs appears to be a hot fukushima topic, I thought this paper may prove interesting to others here... Thanks for the paper, EdMack. The way I read it, there may be hot spots in a number of locations around Fukushi...

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll see the Manganos and others running to correct their reports, regardless of how "valid" the new research results are deemed to be.

Thanks They are indeed interesting and there is lots of interesting information out there, I wish I din't have to work for a living so that I could spend my days reading "interesting" stuff and learning things. Was any of the specific reports of particular interest to you? Just wondering...
