Re: Fukushima Tank Leakage
Very informative posts, Pleonat, thank you. You know, I am amazed at lots of people complaining about TEPCO being secretive, etc. yet we know more details about this accident than *any* other major accident in the past, mostly through routine press releases and presentations from TEPCO. Got to give ...

Re: Fukushima radiation is killing hundreds of whales!
Unfortunately, Howard, it will NOT make the front page because it is a hoax and "intentional" lies. You may want to take a look here: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/fukushima-dead-whales-hoax.shtml BTW, you should do a bit of research before you post such outrageous claims. It doesn't do much ...

Howard, thanks for making the report available to all of us here, but considering the source, I, for one, wouldn't put too much weight on it, sorry.

Re: UCS Report about the NRC not doing a good job
Howard, lots of people are reading this because it's a hot topic. But, they probably don't want to comment because of your style on this forum. They probably don't want to get into a silly argument with you. BTW, here is another document, relating to the same subject, just in case you are interested!

Re: Radioactive water leaks at Fukushima
Howard, do you have a source for those numbers, other than the Guardian? It would be nice to have a more reliable source and I haven't seen any similar numbers out there.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Looking for MCNP for Dummies info
MCNP for Dummies? That's a good one. Not too many dummies would be looking at MCNP, I don't think :-) I'm sure you can find lots of technical papers on specific aspects of MCNP, but a single general reference document may not be readily available. I would take a look at the intro user's manual for M...

Very interesting blog here, regarding the San Onofre shutdown (and other related issues). I like the comment by Robert Hargraves about the NRC having lost its way. I think he is right on the money

No rise in cancer seen from Japan's nuclear disaster - U.N.
The evacuation of tens of thousands of people helped prevent rising cancer rates and other health problems after Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster, the world's worst in 25 years, U.N. scientists said on Friday.

Re: Nuclear Fusion status and Prospects
It is indeed an interesting report. I just read, a couple of days ago, that the Fusion research effort at MIT (one of the few still going on) will be probably be cancelled because of lack of funding. If that's true, it would be horrible. We went from leading the world in fusion research to not even ...

Re: How about these Reports on Nuclear?
Do you think that Nuclear would be a viable option, if it was not subsidized? I think that it would be a *very* viable option, if it was decided upon on technical merit, instead of on politics and fear mongering by certain groups. When a nuke takes longer to build because of the extended regulation...
