Apparently, knee jerk evacuation may not be the best/safest thing to do following a nuclear accident!

Pleonat, I'm glad you posted this, because I have been preaching for years that although sometimes needed, this immediate and indiscriminate evacuation following a nuclear accident can be a lot more damaging than helpful. I seem to recall the original emergency response plans, where the key-hole model was being used, i.e., evacuate only areas that may be in imminent exposure danger, based on current weather and plant conditions. Then we ended up with a 10 mile evacuation zone, instead of a 10 mile "response" zone. I wished more people who are knowledgeable on the subject, like Dr. Wilson, would speak up!
