I know that there have been many discussions about the safety of nuclear plants following the Fukushima accident. It prompted the cancellation of the Italian nuclear power expansion program, prompted Germany's announcement to shut down all nukes (though as I understand, they had to re-start some of them when the winter got really have a few months ago), and there has been a lot of talk about the US having a lot of plants similar to the Fukushima ones and how they should all be shut down.

NEI has put together a very informative, interactive presentation that very clearly demonstrates the safety of US nukes, when phased with floods, hurricanes and other natural disasters. I think everyone should take a look, http://safetyfirst.nei.org/industry-act ... ures-fury/

I had no part in creating this presentation, but I think NEI has done an excellent job and I wouldn't mind discussing it here, if anyone had any comments.
